There is something unexplainable that pulls us towards high mountains. From the dawn of civilization, they have been a symbol of something far bigger than us – a higher place of awareness. Climbing the mountains is more than a metaphor, it is a journey of self-discovery.
Mount Kilimanjaro, or Kili as it's more affectionately known as is the highest mountain in Africa and the highest free-standing mountain in the world.


Mount Cook is also Known as Aoraki Mount Cook is New Zealand’s highest mountain peak, with a height of 3,754 meters above the sea level.


Kangchenjunga (8,586 m) is the third highest peak in the world. Until 1852, Kangchenjunga was assumed to be the highest mountain in the world.


Fitz Roy - ancient dwellers called it "Chaltén", which means “smoking mountain”. They believed it was a volcano due to almost constant presence of the clouds on its summit.


Mount Denali (20,310 feet) - the highest mountain in North America. Denali is taller than Mount Everest when calculated by measuring the distance from base to summit. Denali's summit is 18,000 feet from its base while Mount Everest's summit is 12,000 feet from its base.


K2, the killer mountain, is the second highest peak in the world with the height of 8611 meters. One in every four people who have attempted the summit has died trying, due to its difficult ascent and unpredictable weather.


Mt Rainier is the United States' most glaciated mountain. It has 26 major glaciers. The highest crater lake in North America is located in Mount Rainier. It is 130 feet long by 30 feet wide and it is 16 feet deep. The lake sits under 100 feet of ice.


Iconic Swiss peak - Matterhorn! The four faces of the Matterhorn face the four cardinal directions - north, east, south, and west. The mountain is the result of the collision of two pieces of Earth's crust, the African continental plate and the European plate. The peak is actually from the African continental plate.


Mt Fuji - the sacred mountain of Japan. It might look like it’s just one giant mountain, but Mount Fuji is actually made up of three separate volcanoes: Komitake at the bottom, Kofuji in the middle and Fuji at the top, which is the youngest of the three.


Ama Dablam - the most beautiful peak in the world lies in Khumbu region of Nepal. This 6,812 meters (22,349 ft) peak is every alpinist's dream to climb. Ama Dablam means mother's necklace.
